• 19th November: Acute and emergency dermatology

• 10th December: Practical dermatology

• 17th December: Student presentation day (a one-hour slot on this date)

Programme Overview

The annual Clinical Dermatology Care Course delivered by St John’s DermAcademy is aimed at registered nurses, dermatology nursing associates or allied healthcare professionals who wish to extend and consolidate their clinical knowledge in the field of dermatology. It will appeal particularly to nurses within the specialty, community / practice nurses, advanced clinical practitioners and practitioners who see patients with skin rashes in acute services.

The course is delivered via a combination of live online webinars (09:00 – 11:30 on above dates) and an interactive learning platform providing pre-recorded lectures, videos and learning tasks. The themed sections include: Patient assessment and overview of dermatology therapeutics, Eczema and psoriasis, Inflammatory and chronic skin conditions, Skin cancer, Acute and emergency dermatology, and practical dermatology.

Course Fees

£595. This includes: 6 live teaching webinars, access to all course material on our highly rated interactive learning platform, and a final one-hour student presentation session. Online attendance of all webinars, completion of online learning tasks and participation in the student presentation are requirements to receive a course completion certificate.

Academic Credit

If academic credit is desired, students undertaking the clinical dermatology care course have the option to complete an additional work-based learning module (WBL) at level 6 or 7, at Kings College London University. Registration and payment for this element is organised separately. The work-based learning module would be undertaken in the academic term following completion of the clinical course (January – April 2025). It is not possible to undertake this module without completing the clinical dermatology care course beforehand.
